Developing an Interactive Web Tool for Informed Parental Control App Selection

Child cybercrimes affect 22% of minors in Mexico, with online pedophilia increasing from 10% in 2018 to 56% in 2020. This proposal presents an interactive web tool developed to facilitate informed selection of parental control applications. The project is based on a previous comparative analysis of 20 applications evaluated under functionality, cost, security, and reputation criteria. The implemented tool includes an interactive survey system with personalized recommendations, dynamic application ranking based on matches, complete comparative table of 10 key features, and direct download links. The methodology employed was web development using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript with GitHub Copilot assistance integrated in the development environment to facilitate continuous code and information updates. As a result, a functional, responsive, and accessible platform was obtained that democratizes access to specialized information with efficient maintenance capability through AI-assisted development tools. The tool represents the practical materialization of rigorous academic research into an accessible and free solution for parents and caregivers, with code architecture that facilitates periodic updates of the applications database.
