History of the journal

History and Background of the Tlamati Sabiduría Journal
With the aim of promoting and organizing an editorial body for the research area at the Autonomous University of Guerrero (UAG), proposals were put forward in 1989 to establish an appropriate editorial policy that would systematically disseminate the research conducted by researchers in the State of Guerrero and at the UAG in various scientific fields.

To this end, it is necessary to analyze the editorial efforts undertaken in recent years in the area of Scientific Research at the Autonomous University of Guerrero. Since the creation and institutionalization of a journal for disseminating knowledge, a series of publications, including journals, bulletins, and books, have been generated in the research area, in addition to academic and scientific events and some editorial attempts that have largely addressed this deficiency for certain sectors. However, the impact on most social and productive sectors has been incipient and inconsistent.

The journal Ciencia marked the beginning of this endeavor in 1990. Promoted by the then Coordinator of Scientific Research, Dr. Jesús Samper Ahumada (+), Ciencia, like all beginnings, indicated the path to follow and, above all, revealed the obstacles that a project of this kind would face. The lack of an institutional budget, the failure to control revisions of the final product (the Errata section of that journal was almost as long as the journal itself), the complete lack of distribution within and outside the University, and above all, the absence of a culture of formal publications within our University's academic community, were the main obstacles this project encountered. If we add to this the fact that, due to legal issues with the editors of the original Revista Ciencia, published by the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC), both the journal's format and its formal structure were reformulated and redefined through the establishment of an Editorial Research Committee, giving rise to the Revista de la Investigación Científica (March 1991 to December 1994), a publication that replaced Revista Ciencia.

The Revista de la Investigación Científica was the first journal of its kind designed within the Autonomous University of Guerrero, resulting in more direct oversight of the published content by the academic community. Unfortunately, the lack of an institutional budget for its print publication meant that the publication lacked the necessary continuity to sustain such an endeavor, and consequently, it ceased publication after a few issues.
It was in 2003 that an attempt was made to revive this effort, now under the name Revista de Investigación Científica CIENCIA. Once again, it was the lack of an institutional budget that brought this project to an end, but at the same time, it allowed us to explore other options. It was during this period that the Electronic Journal of Scientific, Technological, and Humanistic Dissemination, Tenocelome, was published, followed later by the Electronic Bulletin A Ciencia Cierta (For Sure Science). These publications were delivered via email, as hosting on institutional servers could never be formalized. The content focused on scientific dissemination and was published bimonthly, continuing steadily until 2009. Tlamati Sabiduria (Tlamati Wisdom) is the latest effort continuing this endeavor. Published in print since 2009, its publication has been intermittent but, to date, almost constant. Without a formal, institutionalized budget for print publication, and in an era where scientific publications must undergo rigorous external evaluations and meet well-defined academic standards, we took on the challenge of publishing Tlamati Sabiduria in electronic format.

Now a publication of the General Directorate of Postgraduate Studies and Research of the Autonomous University of Guerrero, with an Editorial Committee comprised of internationally renowned academic figures and a formalized Academic Committee of Review Editors made up of recognized experts in their respective fields, we are publishing not only internal authors but also promoting the publication of authors external to the UAGro, fulfilling the requirements so that in the near future, it may be considered and evaluated for inclusion in an internationally indexed publication.

To all those who have supported and revived the effort to publish a scientific dissemination journal within the Autonomous University of Guerrero, we acknowledge 35 years of effort, tenacity, perseverance, and above all...
