Guidelines for authors

Structure and format of basic data adhering to Scielo guidelines
The suggested fonts for the document text are: Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri, and Verdana.

I. Front (cover page)


1. The DOI number must be right-aligned, size 12. (Editors only)
2. The article section to which it belongs in the table of contents must be right-aligned and size 12. If this information is not available, leave a blank line.

3. The format will be unjustified, without paragraph breaks, and with a 1.25 cm first-line indent.

4. The page must be on A4 paper with margins: top 2.5 cm, bottom 2.5 cm, left 2.5 to 3 cm, and right 2.5 cm. Submissions will be sent as a Microsoft Word file. 5. Research articles, articles on technological development, innovation, and culture, as well as reviews, should be between 5 and 25 pages in length.

6. The title in the article's original language should be in bold, 14-point font, and centered. The minimum length is 12 words, and the maximum is 18 words.

7. The translation of the title should appear on the following line, in bold and centered. If there are multiple translations, each should be on a separate line. The font should be 14-point and centered.

8. Authors' names should be left-aligned, each in a separate paragraph, and in 12-point font. Include full first and last names in the order of authorship. Each author should have a superscript number or character indicating their affiliation. This must be included for all authors. Write their ORCID as follows: ID. 0000.000x-xxxx-xxxx. 9. Affiliation(s) should be listed below the authors' names. Each affiliation should be in a separate paragraph, using 12-point font. At the beginning of each affiliation, include the number or superscript character that links it to one or more authors. Include the ROR (example: https://ror.org/054tbkd46).
10. The corresponding author's name should be left-aligned, using 12-point font.
11. The abstract should follow the authors' affiliations, left-aligned, using 12-point font. The word "Abstract:" should be in bold, with or without a colon. The abstract text should begin in the following paragraph, using 12-point font. For structured abstracts (containing sections such as Introduction, Methods, Conclusions, etc.), each section title should be in bold, with or without a colon. The text of each abstract section should be in separate paragraphs. The abstract should contain a minimum of 250 words and a maximum of 300 words. For popular science manuscripts, the abstract should be clear and concise, ensuring that it describes the purposes or objectives, hypothesis, main theory, methodology, and conclusions.

12. Keywords should follow the abstract, in 12-point font. The text "Keywords:" should be in bold, followed by a colon. Each keyword should be separated by a comma or semicolon. A minimum of 7 keywords and a maximum of 10 keywords are required.

13. The abstract should be left-aligned, in 12-point font. The word "Abstract" should be in bold, with or without a colon. The abstract text should begin in a new paragraph, in 12-point font. For structured abstracts, each section title should be in bold, with or without a colon. The text of each section of the abstract should be in separate paragraphs.

14. The abstract text should be in bold, with or without a colon. 14. Keywords should follow the abstract, in 12-point font. The text "Keywords:" should be in bold, followed by a colon. Each keyword should be separated by a comma or semicolon. Minimum 7 keywords, maximum 10 keywords.
15. The dates of receipt and acceptance may be included after the abstracts or at the end of the document, in 12-point font, left-aligned, in the format "dd/mm/yyyy". Each date of acceptance, receipt, and/or revision should be in a separate paragraph. (Editors only)
Structure and Format of the Text Body
II. Body (Body of the Argument)
1. Sections/Paragraph Subheadings: 16-point font, centered, bold, with the first letter capitalized.

2. Subsections/Secondary Paragraph Subheadings: 14-point font, centered, bold, with the first letter capitalized. When subsections exist, format them in 13-point bold, centered font.

3. Body text: 12-point font. There should be no line breaks between paragraphs.

4. Footnotes should be at the bottom of each page, 12-point font.
5. Direct quotations longer than three lines: 12-point font, 4 cm left margin.

6. Image titles: 12-point font, centered, and bold. Image descriptions: 12-point font.

7. Figures: Figures should be sized according to the following formats: One column: Height: Max 19.7 cm; Width: Max 7.6 cm. Two columns (half page): Height: Max 9.5 cm; Width: Max 16.5 cm. Two columns (full page): Height: Max 19.7 cm; Width: Max 16.5 cm.
